The Automatic Deduction of Classificatory Systems from Linguistic Theories (Abridged)

Classifying linguistic objects is a widespread and important linguistic task, and computational linguistics often requires the deduction of a classiicatory system from a general linguistic theory. Since hand deducing a classiicatory system may consume much eeort and introduce errors, a device that eeectively deduces accurate classiicatory systems from general linguistic theories would beneet computational linguistics. We present a prototypical abstract device that automatically deduces classiicatory systems from nite linguistic theories.
